Working across evaluation, interpretation, research, and mentorship, we are all about placing visitors and audiences at the centre of cultural experiences, taking a creative data-led approach to inform strategic and operational decision making.
Crown Cultures was founded in 2026 by Dr Ellie King.
Ellie completed her PhD in 2024, after researching visitor experience and evaluation at the University of Warwick and Oxford University Museum of Natural History. In her research, Ellie developed the Museum Exhibit User Experience (MEUX) Toolkit, a comprehensive resource for conceptualising, evaluating, and developing museum exhibits.
Ellie conducted research with practitioners across the UK museum sector, and conducted visitor research at Oxford, Bletchley Park, and Beamish Living Museum. She also undertook a year as an Exhibition Officer at OUMNH, where she utilised her research in the development of a temporary exhibition, Connected Planet.
Our Approach

Our approach involves taking an in-depth approach to understanding the interaction between museums and visitors, measuring these interactions, and then utilising this data to create new experiences.
